The Life to Know Him

… tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high. Luke 24:49

The Holy Spirit has been given; the Lord is glorified—our waiting is not dependent upon the providence of God, but on our own spiritual fitness.  The attitude of receiving and welcoming the Holy Spirit into our lives is to be the continual attitude of a believer.

Prayer Points

John  & Elizabeth Steele— John is in India on ministry and mission until the end of June.   Pray for John’s protection during this time, for the anointing of the Holy Spirit on his ministry and for God’s Kingdom to be extended.  Pray too for Elizabeth as she remains behind.  Pray that God will provide in all areas.

Richard & Roxanne Shawyer and family—Richard and Roxanne continue to be separated due to the courts not hearing Richard’s case in Senegal.  Please pray that God will move supernaturally in  Richard’s circumstances so that the family can be reunited again quickly.  Pray too for their children Rosalie, Daniel and William during their father’s absence.

Hugh Elphinstone recently received and email from Richard Shawyer informing him that he was to face court on Monday, 2nd June at 8.30 (our time).  The email reads as follows:

From Richard Shawyer: Thanks for your prayers and those of the church. I really appreciate them. My appointment time at the court is 10:30 am which is 8:30 pm on Monday 2 June your time. You are correct that we are on GMT which is 10 hours behind Eastern Standard Australian time.

I heard that my accuser went to visit Alassane in prison. It seems that Ousman is regretting the trouble that he has caused Alassane. He was shocked to see the joy and peace that Alassane has in prison. So perhaps God is starting to answer the prayers of many on his behalf. As for Alassane he testifies that he hardly even notices that he is in prison because of the peace and joy God has given him.

Blessings to you. Richard Shawyer.

Let us commit to pray for Richard, his accuser, the court prosecutor, and the judge hearing the case in Senegal at that specific time. Pray that justice will be done in that court at that time. Pray that the unjust and unfair charges made against him will be dismissed. Pray that Richard will be freed to rejoin his family in Melbourne.
