Minister's Message

Over this last month  I have been on a significant journey with the Lord that has found me listening for His voice more and more.  It has been an exciting journey, yet at the same time it’s been challenging and at times confronting as I’ve pushed into God and allowed His Spirit to search me and to know my heart.  One particularly and exciting factor is that despite the Spirit searching me and knowing my heart, He still loves me and still talks to me.  It’s just totally amazing.

God’s voice is powerful!  When He speaks, He brings into being something from nothing.  He creates, He forms, He transforms!  When God spoke at creation, He brought into being creation.  He brought into being people, He gave life.

Whenever God speaks into my life He is bringing about something that He wants to do within me.  In the very same way, whenever God speaks into your life He is bringing about something that He wants to do within you.  Remember that God only has good plans for your life.  Jeremiah 29:11 says -

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm              you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

We fight and resist God, often refusing to listen to his voice, and yet He wants more for us then we ourselves can ever imagine.  If we push in and listen to His voice then we will find that He can create in us something new; He will form us, our character, our personality, into what He desires us to be; He will transform us into a beautiful creation for Him.

It is as we allow God’s voice to speak into our life that we can become all that God intends for us.  We can start to move in the area of ministry and mission that He has called us too.  While I have written this from the perspective of an individual  and God speaking to us individually, I want to say that He does speak to us corporately.  However, it is only as we listen for and to God’s voice individually that we will be able to hear Him corporately.

The Church Council members need to listen for the voice of God in their individual lives if they want to hear the voice of God and what He is saying to View Hill Fellowship.  This is why my journey with God this last month has been so important.  I too am responsible to hear the voice of God as an individual if we as a church are to hear Him corporately.

The Voice of God is the Spoken Word—logos.  We are promised that His Word never returns unto Him void. Isaiah 55:10 & 11 -

As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the              earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,              so is my word that goes out from my mouth:  It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish              what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

God’s Word will not be frustrated.  If you do not receive it, He will pass it on to someone else.  You need to receive His Word, hear His Voice and respond if you want it to be fulfilled in your life.  If you stop listening to His voice, you will soon have difficulty discerning it and won’t know what God is saying to you.

I pray that you will hear His voice and allow it to come to fruition in your life.
